SENSORY PATHWAYS | Elementary Schools

Through another Wayland Public School Foundation grant, Loker and Claypit Hill Schools have a new addition: Sensory Pathways. These pathways serve multiple purposes including spatial awareness, hand-eye coordination, motor planning and balance. They also represent another crucial strategy that children can use when they are feeling upset or anxious in addition to providing a brain break when a child needs to move to refocus their attention or is experiencing a sensory overload. What has been great about the sensory pathways and mindfulness is that adults and students have been utilizing these strategies.
