MUSIC ON THE PLAYGROUND | Loker Elementary School

A 2019/20 grant from WPSF brought new sights and sounds to the Loker Elementary playground. Three oversized musical instruments have been permanently added to the main playground- a met allophone, a set of chimes, and a kettle drum. The instruments encourage students to create alone and together, fostering cooperation and inspiring creativity, moments of calm and self-expression in new ways.

Students are really enjoying this new creative way to get sensory input at recess while they connect and play together.
