CLASSROOM PRINTING PRESS | Wayland High School

GIA_printingpress.jpg

Check out these students’ first dry point etchings, based on their favorite song lyrics!! The etchings were made using Wayland High School’s new classroom printing press, which was funded by a grant from WPSF. Having this printing press at their fingertips ensures the students enrolled in visual arts classes access to a more sophisticated printmaking process.

Students enrolled in Introductory Art classes will be encouraged to create expressive, personal artwork, while Advanced students will have the opportunity to create etchings using a technique of etching on plastic sheets. Printmaking is an opportunity for students to learn craftsmanship and will also be beneficial to the students who are preparing portfolios for admission to art programs and schools.
